QA Automation Engineer – Backend & API

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to support Vonage's Residential platform. In this role, you will learn and automate our front-end and back-end Business Support Systems (BSS), including billing, product catalog, ordering, shipping, and more. These components also power the APIs for all front-end applications, support tools, customer self-service, subscriptions, and online accounts.
Technical Requirements and Responsibilities
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Linux-based systems (RedHat, Docker, etc.).
- Develop automated tests and test frameworks to enhance software quality.
- Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, resiliency, and chaos testing.
- Identify and implement quality processes to improve engineering efficiency.
- Automate various aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong expertise in automation testing for REST and SOAP APIs, with coding proficiency in Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber) and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Apache & WebLogic platforms.
- Understanding of various database architectures (SQL/Oracle, Mongo, etc.).
- Working knowledge of GIT, SVN, JIRA, AWS, Puppet, and SOAPUI.
- Experience collaborating with both on-shore and off-shore teams.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
Additional Desired Skills (Not Required)
- Knowledge of billing platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Grafana and Kibana.
- Understanding of JMS or other message processing platforms.
