Python QA Automation Engineering - Vice President, Software Engineering

Morgan Stanley seeks a visionary leader to define and drive the strategy, architecture, and execution of robust Python-based API test automation frameworks for enterprise platforms. This pivotal role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership acumen, and a proven track record in delivering scalable, high-quality automation solutions that align with modern software development and DevOps best practices. You will own the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade API automation frameworks supporting RESTful and SOAP services, and provide technical leadership to global QA and engineering teams. Key responsibilities include mentoring automation developers, overseeing the architecture and implementation of scalable, high-performing, and maintainable test solutions using Python, SQL, and cloud-native technologies. You will drive an automation-first quality strategy to enable faster, reliable, and secure software delivery through CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with Product, Development, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams is essential to align quality goals with business priorities. Continuous improvement of API test coverage, performance benchmarks, and defect resolution processes is expected. This role also involves leading innovation in automation by evaluating emerging technologies like AI/ML-driven testing, synthetic monitoring, and data visualization (e.g., Power BI). You will represent QA Automation in executive forums and contribute to enterprise architecture and engineering strategy.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and test automation, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or VP-level role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, API test frameworks (Pytest, Requests), and working knowledge of data platforms like DB2, GreenPlum.
• Proven track record of implementing robust CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Docker, etc.) in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Strong experience with REST/SOAP API testing, JSON/XML parsing, schema validation, and request/response debugging.
• Familiarity with secure API authentication (OAuth, JWT), and API documentation standards (Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Hands-on experience in distributed systems, microservices architecture, message queues, and event-driven APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, influence stakeholders, and deliver strategic outcomes.
