Your Impact

• Design, write, test, and maintain high-quality, idiomatic Python code that powers Ubuntu's ecosystem of web services, system utilities, Kubernetes tools, and desktop applications.
• Collaborate proactively with globally distributed teams to solve complex challenges in AI, cloud infrastructure, or IoT platforms.
• Debug production issues, optimize performance, and contribute comprehensive technical documentation.
• Engage with the broader open-source community to build thriving ecosystems around our technologies.

Your Work Environment

You will work remotely from home in any time zone, enjoying flexibility balanced by twice-yearly team sprints where you'll travel globally for company events. We value results over hours spent at a desk and empower self-starters to deliver excellence on schedule.

What You Need to Succeed

• A strong academic background in Computer Science or STEM (or an exceptional alternative path narrative).
• Professional experience writing modern, maintainable Python with a focus on performance and readability.
• Demonstrated drive, self-motivation, detail orientation, and the ability to thrive in a distributed team environment.
• Familiarity with Linux (Debian/Ubuntu preferred), container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and ideally complementary skills like Golang, Rust, or cloud platforms (OpenStack/AWS).
