What You'll Do:

• Spearhead the design, development, and upkeep of robust backend systems, including APIs and messaging solutions, ensuring modular code architecture and long-term maintainability for new features.
• Implement sophisticated design patterns to engineer high-performance systems capable of achieving sub-second latency.
• Construct scalable backend systems that can efficiently accommodate a growing user base and increasing demands.
• Take ownership of the complete feature/project lifecycle, from initial estimation through to successful delivery, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Architect and meticulously optimize distributed backend systems for superior low latency, high availability, and ease of maintenance.
• Serve as the central point of coordination, bridging the gap between Frontend, AI, and Backend teams to ensure the seamless integration and delivery of cohesive features.
• Uphold stringent code quality standards through rigorous code reviews, promoting modular design principles, and adhering to industry best practices.
• Manage the deployment, ongoing maintenance, and optimization of backend services and infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Oversee comprehensive testing of features and adeptly address debugging challenges within production environments.

What You Bring:

• A seasoned backend engineer with over 3 years of experience, comfortable and effective in fast-paced operational settings.
• A demonstrated history of leading technical projects and successfully collaborating across diverse teams to achieve significant, impactful outcomes.
• Deep proficiency in backend software development, leveraging languages like Python, Golang, or other object-oriented languages.
• A strong grasp of RESTful APIs, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and microservice architectural styles.
• Practical experience working with MySQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with deploying and managing services on cloud infrastructure like AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and modern CI/CD pipeline methodologies.
• Expertise in performance optimization and debugging within complex distributed systems.
• Proven capability to lead technical initiatives and effectively mentor junior engineering talent.
• Experience in implementing established design patterns and developing modular, maintainable codebases.
• Exposure to AI/ML pipelines and integrating with search technologies like Elasticsearch.
• Practical experience with NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch within distributed system architectures.
• Solid understanding of web server functionalities and distributed system design principles.
• Experience in coordinating frontend and backend workflows during the feature development process.
