Amtec Staffing is seeking an experienced Wood Framing Project Manager for a leading rough carpentry and wood framing contractor in Carson, California. This role is crucial for supporting the company's expanding operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of rough carpentry and wood framing projects, from the preconstruction phase through project closeout, ensuring successful delivery in terms of safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple rough carpentry and wood framing projects concurrently from award to completion.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and pricing strategies.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and revisions; accurately price changes and manage all change orders.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to meticulously monitor progress, productivity, safety protocols, and overall quality.
- Facilitate seamless coordination with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trade professionals.
- Proactively identify and resolve jobsite challenges to prevent impacts on schedule or profitability.
- Track job costs, labor, materials, and production efficiency to ensure project financial health.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and conduct early assessments of troubled job conditions.
- Review and approve invoices and change orders in strict accordance with contract terms.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and internal project teams.
- Provide regular, transparent project updates and address concerns proactively.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams and junior staff members.
- Implement robust quality control measures to uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and highly productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience specifically in rough carpentry and wood framing.
- Strong background in commercial and multi-unit residential construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of wood framing methods, materials, and relevant building codes.
- Proficiency with essential project management software such as AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in Wood Framing and Rough Carpentry.
- Proven skills in Construction Project Management, Scheduling & Cost Control, Change Orders, and Field Coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Extensive industry experience (15+ years) may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Department management experience is considered a valuable asset.
