Project Engineer

Johnson Controls is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer specializing in Fire Access Systems, CCTV, and Access Control Systems for its Kolkata, West Bengal, India operations. This contract role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of these critical safety and security systems, from design and installation to integration and commissioning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing the deployment of fire alarm systems, surveillance systems, and access control solutions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications. The role requires robust project management capabilities and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead projects for the installation and commissioning of Fire Access Systems, CCTV, and Access Control Systems, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and specification-compliant delivery.
• Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the installation, configuration, and commissioning of fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems, ensuring full operational capacity and regulatory compliance.
• System Integration: Integrate Fire Access, CCTV, and Access Control Systems with other Building Management Systems (BMS), including HVAC, lighting, and energy management, for seamless operation.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including designs, diagrams, as-built drawings, manuals, test reports, and compliance certificates.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide post-installation support, including maintenance, repair, and expert guidance on system operation and problem resolution.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all installed systems comply with relevant fire safety codes, security standards, and industry best practices.
• Client Interaction: Act as the primary client contact, providing project updates, resolving queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Diploma Degree in Engineering, Security Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire access systems, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, CCTV/surveillance systems, and access control systems (e.g., proximity card readers, biometric scanners).
• Project Management: Proven track record in managing security and fire safety systems projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for on-site issue resolution.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for effective client and team interaction.
