Booth & Associates is seeking a highly experienced Project Engineer IV to join our dedicated team in Summerville, SC. This critical role involves leading a small team of engineers and CAD designers in the execution of substation design projects. You will be responsible for supervising staff, managing client relationships, and overseeing all aspects of project design and documentation. We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background in substation engineering and excellent leadership capabilities. This is a full-time, onsite position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule the work of engineers, designers, and CAD operators within your assigned team.
- Serve as the primary Customer's Point of Contact, managing existing projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering future business development and project planning.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multiple areas of substation engineering, including physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
- Perform and direct project design activities, including engineering calculations, utilization of computer design software, and adherence to engineering procedures and design manuals.
- Perform and/or direct the preparation of complex project documents such as specifications and bid documents.
- Perform and direct complex drawing reviews, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and accuracy in all project plan sets.
- Supervise the work of and assist in the training of division Project Engineers I and II.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for daily tasks.
- Interface effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
- Undertake other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in substation engineering.
- A current Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Proven ability to supervise and schedule engineering and design teams.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of substation engineering disciplines.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and documentation preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
