Full Job Description
PCL Construction is seeking a skilled Project Engineer with prior experience in water infrastructure and data center projects to join our team on a major data center development in Delhi, Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Maintain contracts with select trade partners and administer subcontracts, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and supervising progress.
- Participate in the change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Perform project document control and procedures, including coordinating RFIs, managing shop drawings and submittals, and maintaining as-built drawings for both building and civil aspects.
- Collaborate with the project team lead in supervising design by responding promptly to the submittal schedule.
- Review trade partners’ submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation before forwarding for review.
- Coordinate with the project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope performance regarding site HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality.
- Prepare and supervise progress claims and estimates.
- Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, and expedite material orders.
- Assist with site inspections from the design team to resolve constructability and site coordination issues, and review and sign off on functionality, AHJ requirements, and code compliance, ensuring accepted resolutions.
- Participate in overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warranty manuals, and deficiency and warranty work.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in a related subject area (construction management, engineering, architecture) preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Verified understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards.
- Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and delegate simple tasks.
- Ability to build a comprehensive schedule.
- Ability to coordinate subcontracts and contract documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong ability to embrace new technology.
