Program Assistant

CAMH, a premier mental health hospital renowned for its commitment to transforming societal perceptions of mental illness, is seeking a dedicated full-time Program Assistant for its Crisis and Critical Care Unit 7. In this vital role, you will directly support clinical staff by assisting with patient observations and contributing to the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment within the unit. Your responsibilities will encompass critical tasks such as conducting environmental safety scans, supporting staff in patient escorts between units and the terrace, and diligently assisting with behavioral observations. You will also provide essential support to other units within the Crisis Critical Care (CCC) program, which may include performing Q15-minute observations, 1:1 patient observations, and accompanying clients both on and off the CAMH campus. Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, regarding behavioral observations will be a key aspect of your role.
