Professional Auditor

NEOGOV is seeking a dedicated Professional Auditor to join the South Carolina Office of Resilience team in Richland County, SC. This role is crucial for evaluating internal controls, preparing comprehensive audit reports, and ensuring adherence to auditing standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting or auditing, with a proven ability to articulate findings clearly. Responsibilities include conducting detailed tests of controls, analyzing property, equipment, personnel, and supply utilization, assessing program policy effectiveness, and verifying the accuracy of financial transactions and applicant files. You will also contribute to the creation of work papers, audit summaries, and portions of the audit program, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and internal procedures. The role involves preparing audit finding sheets, communicating discrepancies and recommendations to Audit Management, and assisting in the preparation of full-scope audit reports. Additionally, you will support the Audit Manager in updating the Audit's Continuity Book and establishing departmental policies and procedures to uphold professional standards. This is a full-time, onsite position.
