Product Manager - ODSP Team at Microsoft (Hyderabad)

Microsoft is seeking a passionate Product Manager to join the ODSP team in Hyderabad. This role offers a unique opportunity at the intersection of product management, business decisions, and data, with high visibility to leadership. You will play a crucial role in making critical strategic decisions, promoting data utilization to understand and enhance customer value at optimal cost, and fostering a data culture across teams.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with feature owners, operations, engineers, and leaders to develop highly available and scalable analytics and insights. This role thrives on ambiguity, creativity, and a passion for uncovering insights. You will influence senior leaders across technical and business domains.

You will empower data-driven decision-making by implementing principles of data mining, data transformation & modelling, and analytical skills to define and measure key business health metrics. Beyond leading analytical tools, you will provide thought leadership for product feature roadmaps using data-driven insights. Strong business acumen, experience in developing reporting and analytical infrastructures, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate: Develop accountability frameworks and manage dependencies across partner teams to deliver actionable insights for key business priorities.
• Innovate: Establish business intelligence tools and analyses to identify opportunities and manage regular business forums to drive actionable insights for leaders. Innovate in data thinking across the organization using traditional BI and modern AI technologies.
• Create: Guide engineering efforts to build telemetry and data pipelines for generating identified metrics. Design dashboards for self-service data exploration across the organization.
• Build a robust data analysis practice, supporting both full-service and self-service models for investigations, and establish a regular engagement rhythm to empower the entire organization with data-driven decisions.
• Drive excitement, adoption, and satisfaction for products/services by ensuring stakeholders and partners are equipped with relevant information, collateral, and messaging.
• Act as a critical bridge within the team, understanding both the value and costs of offerings and investments.
• Serve as a strategic point of contact to define cost-saving opportunities and improve gross margins across ODSP product offerings and infrastructure.
• Work with massive-scale data, as the platform powers hundreds of features across Microsoft 365 products used by hundreds of millions of users monthly.
• Demonstrate initiative, learn quickly with a growth mindset, and effectively manage ambiguity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to intelligently integrate a wide range of large-scale data sets and analyses to answer core business questions and discover growth opportunities.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL/Synapse/COSMOS or similar programming languages, including the ability to write complex queries and procedures for data extraction and transformation.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and manipulate complex financial models and perform data analysis using advanced functions like pivot tables, data validation, and macros.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present and discuss data models and analyses to diverse audiences, including development, operations, leadership, and business teams.
• Experience with Power BI and Tableau data visualization is required. Python and R coding skills are a significant plus.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
• 2+ years of experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
