Product Engineer II

Experian India seeks a Product Engineer for its Credit Bureau Technology team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exhibit technical and creative thinking, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving aptitude, and maintain a zero-tolerance approach for inefficiencies in product development and delivery. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with a fervent desire for continuous learning about diverse products and technologies. This role involves suggesting and driving infrastructure and tooling improvements to support business operations at pace. The Product Engineer will ensure customer success by providing critical support to business-critical applications.

As a member of the Indian Credit Bureau Technology team, you will contribute to technology transformation goals. This team is responsible for the conceptualization, design, development, and support of all bureau technology products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze product requirements and write application code adhering to feature specifications, coding standards, and security protocols.
• Extract, analyze, and recommend fixes for data-related issues.
• Work with large datasets efficiently using code or Excel to generate summaries or views for leadership and the team.
• Prioritize and execute tasks within the product lifecycle according to established guidelines.
• Test and debug applications, proposing mitigative actions and long-term fixes.
• Validate product functionality and security requirements.
• Actively participate with a positive attitude, demonstrating energy and engagement.
• Orchestrate end-to-end deployment processes, considering all aspects of go-live.
• Investigate issue trends, devise solutions, and manage problems, changes, and releases.
• Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
• Perform various types of testing, including Unit Testing, Test Driven Development, Integration Testing, Load Testing, and Test Automation.
• Manage automation, system provisioning, metrics, monitoring, scalability, and security.
• Own and resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in object-oriented architecture and modern frontend frameworks.
• Technology & Script: Experience with JavaScript, Java (Basics/Core/Advanced), Web Services, JSP Servlets, JavaScript toolkits, Web/Application Servers, OO and relational modeling, OOPS, Spring, and Hibernate frameworks.
• DB Skills: Proficient in SQL querying for data review and management (db2, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Scripting: Experienced in shell and Python script management, proficient in Unix commands.
• Networking: Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH).
• Tools: Experience with Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, and Chef.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development, Agile XP, ITIL, and project management methodologies.
• DevOps: Proven experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and DevOps practices.
• Architectures: Experience with various architectures including Domain Driven Design, Microservices, Cloud Native, and Event Driven Architecture.
• Proactive issue management, timely resolution, and identification of remediation opportunities.
• Adherence to a "fail fast" approach aligned with product engineering standards.

Additional Skills:

• 4+ years of experience.
• Constant curiosity and a drive for self-improvement and team enhancement.
• Exposure to Financial Services and Banking concepts.
• Experience in Cloud architecture (AWS) is advantageous.
• Experience with JBoss, Apache Tomcat is advantageous.
• Experience with Angular, Node, and React JS is advantageous.
