Product Engineer II - Credit Bureau Technology

Experian India is seeking a Product Engineer to join our dynamic Credit Bureau Technology team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This role is ideal for a candidate with a proven ability to approach problems from multiple perspectives, analyze the pros and cons of various solutions, and a strong technical aptitude. We are looking for individuals with zero tolerance for inefficiencies in product development and delivery, excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal), and the ability to update customers and partners on progress and resolutions. The successful candidate will stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments across different products and technologies, and will be instrumental in suggesting and driving infrastructure and tooling improvements to enhance operational pace. A key responsibility will be ensuring customer success by providing essential support to business-critical applications.

As a member of the Indian Credit Bureau Technology team, you will collaborate towards our technology transformation goals. This team is responsible for the conceptualization and design of all bureau technology products.

What You Will Do:

• Analyze product requirements and write application code according to feature specifications, adhering to coding standards and security protocols.
• Develop user interfaces.
• Prioritize and build tasks within the product lifecycle, following established guidelines.
• Test and debug applications, proposing both mitigative actions and long-term fixes.
• Validate product functionality and security requirements.
• Orchestrate end-to-end deployment processes, considering all aspects of go-live.
• Investigate issue trends and design solutions, contributing to Problem, Change, and Release Management.
• Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
• Utilize various testing methodologies including Unit Testing, Test-driven Development, Integration Testing, Load Testing, and Test Automation.
• Be responsible for automation, system provisioning, metrics, monitoring, scalability, and security.
• Build and resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

Programming Skills:

• Proficiency in object-oriented architecture and modern frontend frameworks.
• Expertise in JavaScript, Java Basics / Core Java / Advance Java, Web Services, JSP Servlets, JavaScript toolkits, Web/Application Servers, OO and relational modeling skills, OOPS.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.

Database Skills:

• Basic database administration experience with Db2, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Networking:

• Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH).

Tools & Methodologies:

• Experience with tools such as BitBucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, and Chef.
• Proficiency in Agile software development, Agile XP, and project management methodologies.
• Experience using Kanban boards and project management tools like Jira.
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices within a DevOps environment.

Architectures:

• Experience with multiple architectures including Domain-driven Design, Microservices, Cloud Native, and Event-driven Architecture.
• A proactive attitude towards managing and resolving issues, and identifying remediation opportunities.
• Adoption of a 'fail-fast' approach aligned with product engineering standards.

Experience:

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Constant curiosity and a drive for continuous self-improvement and team enhancement.
• Exposure to Financial Services and Banking concepts is highly desirable.
• Experience with Cloud architecture, specifically AWS.
• Experience with JBoss and Apache Tomcat.
• Experience with Angular, Node.js, and ReactJS.
