Procurement Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Procurement Engineer to support critical procurement activities for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects. In this role, you will source materials and services, obtain quotations, evaluate vendors, prepare purchase orders, and ensure the timely delivery of project requirements while maintaining strict quality and cost efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure high-quality materials, equipment, and services required for complex EPC projects.
• Obtain, analyze, and evaluate quotations from various suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Prepare comparative statements and recommend top-tier vendors based on rigorous technical and commercial evaluations.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and actively follow up with suppliers for order confirmation and status updates.
• Coordinate seamlessly with engineering, project management, and logistics teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery schedules are met.
• Monitor supplier performance, adherence to delivery schedules, and compliance with specific project specifications.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and comprehensive documentation.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and flexible delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and specific project requirements.
• Support vendor development initiatives and identify alternative sources to optimize cost and quality.
• Assist in resolving supplier-related issues and expediting critical deliveries when necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing, preferably within the EPC / Marine Industry context.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management best practices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent negotiation skills and proven track record in vendor management.
• Strong analytical mindset with superior problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet stringent project deadlines.
