Principal SW Engineer

About the Role

Gigamon is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our GigaSMART team. In this role, you will architect, design, and implement advanced security technologies within dynamic cross-functional groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative network security solutions to expand the Gigamon portfolio.
• Create product specifications, software architectures, and designs in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Propose robust designs for new products and conduct feasibility analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers on software development, technology stacks, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (MSEE/CS preferred) with 14+ years of experience in networking/software architecture.
• 7+ years focused specifically within the network security domain.
• Proven technical leadership in Network Security technologies.
• In-depth expertise: Proxy, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Data protection, encryption (SSL/TLS), authentication systems (LDAP/SAML).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTPS, and multi-core/multi-threaded system design.
• Expert proficiency in C/C++ coding.
