About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead large-scale initiatives at Moody's Insurance Solutions. You will define technical strategies and deliver mission-critical systems across multiple teams, focusing on risk quantification in the global property and casualty insurance market.

Key Competencies & Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years delivering complex software solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Tech Stack: Strong expertise in Java, Scala, C#, C++, or Python for building scalable APIs and microservices.
  • Architecture & Data: Deep knowledge of relational/NoSQL databases, cloud-native technologies, containerization, and modern software architecture.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to influence strategy, lead organizational change, mentor teams, and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Engineering Excellence: Commitment to testing, observability, security best practices, and continuous improvement through Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering.
  • Mission: Drive cross-functional alignment while mitigating risks for platforms addressing natural catastrophes, cyber threats, and climate change.
