Principal Software Engineer

Qure.ai is seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligence to join our team in Bangalore. As a key member of our technical group, you will be instrumental in driving architectural decisions, ensuring system scalability, and fostering product innovation. Your work will span across complex distributed systems, advanced ML pipelines, and critical APIs that underpin our intelligent decision-making engines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design and development of robust, scalable, and distributed backend systems capable of supporting real-time personalization and machine learning inference.
• Design, implement, and maintain high-throughput infrastructure, encompassing data pipelines and APIs, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and comprehensive observability.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with data science, product management, and go-to-market teams to seamlessly translate cutting-edge AI advancements into production-ready systems.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, promoting best engineering practices throughout the team, and actively mentor fellow engineers via design reviews and code critiques.
• Effectively balance innovation with practical considerations, making informed trade-offs between scalability, latency, and speed to market.

Qualifications:

• A strong blend of deep technical proficiency and intuitive product understanding, with a proven ability to think critically at both system and user levels.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferably from a top-tier Indian institution.
• A minimum of 9 years of extensive backend software development experience, demonstrating a solid grasp of system design principles and distributed systems architecture.
• Expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, along with proficiency in modern cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• A demonstrated history of successfully owning and scaling production systems from inception to completion.
• Proven experience in building high-performance APIs, sophisticated data processing systems, or robust ML infrastructure.
• A proactive startup mindset characterized by a strong sense of ownership, the ability to bring clarity to complex situations, and a drive to deliver impactful work efficiently.
