Full Job Description
As a Principal Site Reliability Developer at Oracle in Bengaluru, Karnataka, you will tackle complex challenges within infrastructure cloud services. Your role will involve designing and implementing automation to prevent recurring issues, and developing software to enhance the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. You will be instrumental in architecting large-scale distributed systems, setting standards, and defining methodologies. Key responsibilities include facilitating service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, sharing full-stack ownership of various services and technology domains. This involves a deep understanding of end-to-end configurations, technical dependencies, and the behavioral characteristics of production services. You will be accountable for the design and delivery of the mission-critical stack, prioritizing security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Your authority extends to end-to-end performance and operability. You will partner with development teams to define and implement improvements in service architecture, clearly articulating the technical attributes of services and guiding development teams to enhance Oracle Cloud service capabilities. A thorough understanding of the service and technology stack's scale, capacity, security, and performance requirements is essential. Demonstrate a strong grasp of automation and orchestration principles. Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate or critical issues not yet documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Leverage your deep knowledge of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot issues and devise mitigation strategies. You should be able to analyze and explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems, driven by professional curiosity and a commitment to developing profound expertise in services and technologies.
