Role: Principal Search Engineer (Java, Elastic Search, Solr)

About Us & Role Scope

Nasuni is building the future of enterprise file data infrastructure. As a Principal Search Engineer, you will own and architect our distributed search platform serving 900+ global customers on petabyte-scale, multi-tenant SaaS environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and operate mission-critical OpenSearch-based architectures for ingestion, indexing, query execution, and relevance tuning.
• Maintain strict Service Level Objectives (SLOs) regarding latency, throughput, and availability in cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Serve as the technical integration point between search systems and core product teams while mentoring engineers on design patterns.

What You Will Do:

• Evolves scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems using Java for high-performance, low-latency services.
• Makes architectural decisions impacting scalability and cost while operating with autonomy as a Principal IC (Individual Contributor).

Requirements:

• Must-Have: 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ in search systems. Deep expertise in Java and production deployment of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch/Solr.
• Preferred: Advanced relevance tuning (LTR/ML), Kubernetes operational ownership, and Python scripting skills.
