Principal IOT Systems Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Principal IOT Systems Engineer.

This role involves developing, creating, and modifying computer applications software and specialized utility programs. The engineer will analyze user needs and develop software solutions, design software, or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency. Responsibilities include modifying existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance. The position requires analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.

Key experience areas include IOT product design and development with hands-on experience in Multimedia and AI/ML software. Familiarity with IOT reference platforms and their customization for end-use cases is essential. Experience with open-source architectures and software development is also required. The engineer will confer with product managers, business leads, engineers, and programmers to design systems, understand project limitations and capabilities, and define performance requirements and interfaces. Data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis for system capabilities and requirements are part of the role. The position involves designing, developing, and modifying software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 5+ years of experience with IOT and related areas.
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ years of work experience interacting with senior leadership (Director level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gathering, integrating, and interpreting information across modules to troubleshoot issues and find solutions.
• Quickly resolving highly complex software issues and bugs.
• Communicating project status, impending obstacles, and remediation suggestions to project leads.
• Collaborating with internal and external team members to achieve project objectives.
• Identifying and closing gaps in design, effort, or other areas.
• Suggesting strategies for solving issues during technical meetings.
• Performing unit testing and integration testing for large features.
• Serving as a technical leader within the area of focus.
• Managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small projects.
• Performing code reviews on project team submissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 4+ years of experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 4+ years of experience with debugging techniques.

Level of Responsibility:
