About The Role

As a Principal Software Engineer at Rosterfy (powered by Teamified), you will be the most senior individual contributor in our engineering team. You are responsible for setting technical direction while staying deeply hands-on, working across product squads to design architecture and solve hard problems.

You connect product strategy to implementation detail, ensuring robustness and scalability across PHP/Laravel backends, Next.js frontends, and AWS/GCP infrastructure. A significant portion of your time will be spent building (coding, reviewing, debugging) while also shaping engineering standards and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture and technical direction for core platform domains including event-driven workflows and AI capabilities.
• Spend 60–80% of your time hands-on: designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments.
• Lead discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives crossing team boundaries or requiring significant architectural change.
• Define and evangelize architectural principles for scalable, resilient systems.
• Raise the bar for quality through shift-left testing, CI/CD improvements, and production observability.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to help them own systems end-to-end.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies like Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.
• Act as a senior engineering voice in roadmap planning to ensure technical health is represented alongside product goals.

Technical Requirements:

• 8+ years in software engineering with experience as staff/principal engineer or architect in SaaS companies.
• Deep expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (10+) and PHP 8+, SQL, caching, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong frontend design experience with React/Next.js.
• Experience working with scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS required).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and containerized environments like EKS/Kubernetes.

Ai Driven Skills:

• Leveraging tools for feature delivery velocity (Copilot, Gemini, test automation).
• Building AI-augmented product experiences using LLM APIs and prompt design.
• Coaching others on integrating GenAI into workflows.
