Principal Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Principal Backend Software Engineer to tackle complex problems and lead technical efforts across our platform. As an engineer well into your career, you will be expected to take pride in being someone who more junior members look up to.

Responsibilities:

• Tackle the largest and most complex problems on the team from design to launch.
• Deliver solutions used by other teams and products.
• Determine plans-of-attack on large projects.
• Routinely tackle complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards.
• Lead code reviews, documentation, and take on complex bug fixes on high-risk problems.
• Mentor more junior members of the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or similar experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture.
• Expert-level experience with one or more prominent languages such as Java, C#, or C/C++ is crucial.
• An expert in at least one technical topic/domain.
