Portworx Engineer

About the Role

Elantis is seeking a battle-tested Portworx Engineer to thrive in complex, production Kubernetes environments. This hands-on role involves deployment, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cross-architecture implementation across demanding enterprise use cases. You will own outcomes end-to-end working directly with customers and internal teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Deployment & Implementation: Configure Portworx on bare metal, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid multi-cloud setups. Implement solutions on EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, Rancher, and Tanzu. Manage production clusters including replication, encryption (at rest/in-flight), CSI integration, and StorageClass configuration.
• Operations & DR: Handle day-2 operations like cluster expansion, node replacement, and upgrades. Integrate with backup solutions (PX-Backup, Velero) and configure PX-Metro DR/AsyncDR topologies for multi-site resilience.
• Troubleshooting: Own L2/L3 escalations involving etcd health, journal logs, quorum issues, and storage failures. Diagnose volume attachment failures, node evictions, and performance bottlenecks using tools like px-diag, Prometheus, and kernel-level utilities.
• Architecture & Engineering: Design reference architectures for heterogeneous Kubernetes environments (air-gapped, on-prem). Architect topologies for stateful databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Kafka) and AI/ML pipelines. Enforce storage policies and evaluate node labeling strategies for high-availability clusters.

What We Are Looking For

Required: 7+ years in infrastructure/storage engineering with direct Portworx experience; production-proven expertise at scale; deep Kubernetes internals knowledge (CSI, PVCs, StatefulSets); strong Linux fundamentals; etcd operations proficiency.

Nice to Have: Pure Storage certification or training; PX-Backup/DR/Autopilot experience; GPU workloads on Kubernetes; scripting in Python/Bash/Go; exposure to service meshes and regulated environments (SOC 2, HIPAA).
