PLM Software Engineer

About the Role

The IS&T Product Engineering Systems group at Apple is seeking a talented PLM Engineer to join their dynamic team in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This role is crucial for driving Apple's Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) transformation initiative, aiming to deliver a next-generation PLM/PIM Platform. This platform will empower Apple's product innovation across hardware, software, and services lines of business. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in designing and developing high-quality enterprise software solutions, particularly on the Teamcenter PLM platform.

In this position, you will contribute to implementing and managing leading-edge applications such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Global Compliance (FMD - Full Material Disclosure), and Enterprise Data Services (EDS). Your work will directly impact the management of product information for Apple's hardware and software development cycles. You will play a key role in high-impact projects that serve critical Apple business units, focusing on managing the regulatory compliance of Apple products including Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams across Apple, demanding a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and hands-on technical individual with excellent communication skills.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with business partners to define project requirements.
• Develop architecture and detailed design specifications.
• Lead implementation and ongoing maintenance efforts.
• Take ownership of all engineering and product feature work within release cycles.
• Design and develop solutions that prioritize scalability, extensibility, security, and performance.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with multi-functional IS&T and Business groups.
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy, creativity, and self-motivation to deliver results on time. Strong multi-tasking abilities are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in developing custom solutions for Siemens Teamcenter PLM. This includes experience with BMIDE data model configuration, AM Rule, Workflow, BOM configurations, Substance Compliance, Sustainability, ITK/C++ server-side customizations, and Active Workspace Client (AWC) customizations using Siemens Web Framework.
• Proficiency in writing C/C++ code, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve compilation, memory, and performance issues.
• Effective interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Java/J2EE, including the use of SOA/REST services. Familiarity with React frameworks for Active Workspace customization is a plus.
• Experience configuring distributed Teamcenter and Active Workspace Client (AWC) environments on Linux, utilizing tools like TEM or DeploymentCenter.
• Experience in designing and executing functional and performance test cases to validate Teamcenter functionality. Experience with test automation is advantageous.
