Platform Engineer

Veeam is seeking a Platform Engineer for the Veeam Data Cloud team in Pune, India. This role is instrumental in building and maintaining a secure, reliable, and user-friendly platform that empowers development teams to efficiently build, test, deploy, and monitor the VDC product. This is a prime opportunity for individuals with cloud infrastructure and software development expertise to contribute to the development of a leading data protection platform.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain code for automating public cloud infrastructure, software delivery pipelines, enablement tools, and internal platform services.
• Document system designs, configurations, processes, and decisions to support an asynchronous, distributed team environment.
• Collaborate with a remote engineering team to advance the VDC platform.
• Work with a modern technology stack including containers, serverless architecture, public cloud services, and cutting-edge SaaS technologies.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for product operations.

Technologies:

Kubernetes, Azure AKS, AWS EKS, Helm, Docker, Terraform, Golang, Bash, Git, etc.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production operations for SaaS or cloud service providers.
• Proven experience in infrastructure automation using code, with technologies like Pulumi or Terraform.
• Experience with GitHub Actions.
• Extensive experience with a wide range of public cloud services.
• Experience in building and supporting enterprise SaaS products.
• Solid understanding of operational excellence principles in a SaaS context.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Demonstrated understanding and implementation of secure cloud design principles.
• Ability to rapidly learn and pragmatically apply new technologies.
• Strong bias for action and effective, frequent communication.
• University degree in a technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure.
• Experience with high-level programming languages such as Go, Java, C/C++.
