Platform Engineer II

About the Role

ICE (Intercontinental Exchange Holdings) is looking for a Platform Engineer II to drive innovation within our servicing technology division. This pivotal role involves architecting and sustaining high-performance cloud infrastructure, robust CI/CD pipelines, and essential developer tooling for the MSP DX product suite.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Spearheading the design and management of AWS-based cloud environments (EKS, Aurora RDS, VPC, IAM) to ensure security and scalability.
• Engineering sophisticated CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps using YAML for seamless multi-stage deployments across development teams.
• Optimizing Kubernetes workloads on EKS through advanced capacity planning, auto-scaling strategies, and resource governance.
• Implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD to enable progressive delivery and reliable updates across all environments.
• Leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (OpenTofu/Terraform) orchestrated via Spacelift for reproducible infrastructure management.
• Configuring Istio service meshes to enforce mTLS, manage traffic flow, and inject sidecars securely into Kubernetes clusters.
• Building comprehensive observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, and CloudWatch with integrated alerting on PagerDuty and MS Teams.
• Leading security initiatives including Snyk/SonarQube scanning for code and images, secrets management, and zero-trust networking implementation.
• Managing Apigee API gateways to streamline client onboarding and KVM deployments.
• Maintaining the Backstage developer portal with up-to-date service catalogs and technical documentation (TechDocs).
• Crafting detailed operational playbooks for disaster recovery, incident response, and cluster operations.
• Conducting SPIKEs to evaluate emerging technologies like AI integration before implementation.
