Plant Maintenance Engineer - New Delhi

Alstom is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Maintenance Engineer for our facility in New Delhi, India. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our depot facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of Depot Mechanical & Plant (M&P) equipment, special tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, testing and commissioning equipment, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Ensure the continuous availability of all depot equipment, including depot compressors, overhead cranes, mobile wheel lathes, and hybrid loco shunters.
• Manage the regular safety certification of equipment from authorized and statutory agencies.
• Maintain and oversee the underframe inspection and wheel reprofiling of Catenary Maintenance Vehicles (CMV).
• Lead and manage depot teams responsible for warranty, commissioning, homologation, failure diagnosis, and field modification implementation.
• Enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards within the depots.
• Coordinate effectively with various maintenance teams.
• Responsible for the electrical maintenance of all electrical fittings and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and oversee the operation of computers, servers, and network issues.
• Ensure the safety of operations, adherence to the operation schedule, and the availability, reliability, and maintainability of all assets.
• Uphold service quality standards and manage obsolescence.
• Implement and manage site processes, including infrastructure and logistics.
• Manage plant maintenance teams and their workload to ensure M&P availability aligns with contractual commitments.
• Supervise local consignment and warranty stock.
• Liaise with customer depot management and maintainers.
• Guarantee the application of EHS rules and processes.
• Monitor critical Plant Equipment & Machines availability and performance.
• Ensure the correct management of associated contracts at the service site.
• Ensure standard documentation for Maintenance, Services, Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures are adhered to and updated.
• Perform Risk Assessments and ensure control measures are implemented.
• Ensure incident and accident reporting and investigations are conducted.
• Conduct Safety and Environmental Audits/Inspections and recommend remedial actions.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Critical Work Regulations.
• Contribute to site development plans and propose areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• HNC (or recognized equivalent), Diploma, or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering field.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in rail depot plant equipment and machinery maintenance management, operations, and planning.
• Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance techniques and principles.
• Strong EHS knowledge, understanding of local legislation and environmental standards.
• Proven management experience of large groups of staff.
• Technical knowledge of relevant Depot Machines and Plant Equipments.
• An understanding of Railway Depot/Industry Operations and Safety standards is preferable.
• Familiarity with SAP and proficient use of MS Office packages, email, and intranet.
• Proficiency in the country's language is required.
