JOB TITLE

PI Engineer (PI Field Engineer) (IN-PI-05)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provides field engineering leadership, assistance, and support to projects and the PI team for the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical and quality issues.

ORGANIZATION

This role is part of the Product Introduction Management for Site, Country, Cluster, Region, or Platform.

Reports directly to the PI Customer Site Manager.

Also reports to the Project PI Manager within the project organization.

This role has no direct reports.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Key accountabilities include:

• Supporting any technical activity on Alstom products during the PI period, as well as Commissioning, Warranty, and Validation & Certification phases.
• Diagnosing the causes of malfunction or failure of operational equipment and recommending preventative and corrective actions.
• Defining troubleshooting methodologies.
• Providing technical guidance and support to technicians in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Providing feedback on technical documentation deficiencies.
• Advising PI management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product enhancements.
• Driving Kx (8D) issues with Quality and internal & external Suppliers as support of PrPIM.
• Ensuring completeness and quality of input to the Failure Management database for RAMS exploitation.
• Driving Reliability Growth through failure/event investigation and reliability forecast implementation (with RAMS support).
• Driving and supporting containment actions to avoid reoccurrence of failures.
• Supporting as-maintained Alstom product configuration control and relevant documentation management.
• Supporting technical reviews with internal and external Suppliers, partners, customers, and authorities.
• Ensuring and facilitating information flow within the PI Customer Site, PI functions, and project teams, providing status and transparency on PI activities and key technical issues to PrPIM.
• Applying EHS requirements on site with the support of EHS team representatives.
• Driving technical Return of Experience/reporting/feedback as support of PrPIM.
• Supporting Obsolescence Management (if applicable).
• Supporting the preparation and implementation of Field Modifications (FM).

• Containment and solution of K1S/K2/K3 issues on time.
• Completeness and quality of failure/event diagnosis/data and relevant documentation.
• Reliability improvement after FM implementation.

• Achievement of configuration updates.
• Achievement of REX implementation.
• Audit results (internal and external).
• Compliance with EHS rules and work-related processes.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Mandatory

• Graduate in Engineering or Industrial (Internal Graduation acceptable).
• Internal EHS training.
• English proficiency.

Desirable

Master’s degree in Engineering.

Experience

Mandatory

• Several years of technical experience, either in mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering.
• Knowledge of Railway safety & RAM.
• EHS knowledge/exposure.
• Product knowledge.
• Data analytics skills.

• General Railway knowledge.

• DFQ, Quality, and Audit skills.
