PHP & Wordpress Developer

Skyapex Digital Agency LLP seeks a sharp, hands-on PHP + WordPress Developer for their Noida, Uttar Pradesh office. As a Senior-Level Developer, you will own the development lifecycle of client websites and web applications, from ideation and architecture to deployment and optimization. You will collaborate with design, marketing, and project management teams to deliver fast, secure, and visually appealing digital products that maximize client digital impact. This is a high-ownership role where your code, decisions, and problem-solving directly influence client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins to production-grade standards.
• Build custom PHP web applications and integrate third-party APIs (payment gateways, CRMs, marketing tools).
• Convert Figma/Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, cross-browser-compatible interfaces.
• Implement advanced WordPress features, including custom post types, ACF fields, Gutenberg blocks, and WooCommerce customizations.
• Optimize website performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals, caching, image optimization, and database query tuning.
• Ensure robust web security through input sanitization, nonce checks, SSL best practices, and proactive vulnerability patching.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and webhook integrations for seamless third-party connectivity.
• Perform code reviews, maintain clean Git workflows, and write technical documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, performance issues, and hosting/server problems efficiently.
• Collaborate in Agile sprints, participate in daily standups, and communicate delivery timelines clearly.
• Stay updated with PHP 8.x, WordPress core releases, and emerging web technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of strong, real-world experience in PHP (7.x/8.x) and WordPress development.
• Expertise in WordPress theme and plugin development (hooks, filters, child themes, WP REST API).
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+) for responsive, mobile-first, cross-browser development.
• Experience with WooCommerce, including custom product types, checkout flows, and payment gateway integration.
• Graduation (B.E./B.tech, BCA, M.tech) from a recognized university.
• Proficiency in MySQL/MariaDB for complex queries, schema design, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git version control (branching strategies, PRs, conflict resolution on GitHub/GitLab).
• Hands-on experience with ACF, Custom Post Types, and Gutenberg block development.
• Experience with page builders like Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder.
• Understanding of web security (OWASP Top 10) and WordPress hardening best practices.
• Familiarity with Linux hosting environments (cPanel, SSH), basic server management, and deployment workflows.

Good to Have (Bonus Points):

• Experience with Laravel or other modern PHP MVC frameworks.
• Basic Vue.js or React.js for headless WordPress or hybrid setups.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean) and Docker basics.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines).
• Knowledge of technical SEO (schema markup, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals optimization).
• Experience with WP-CLI and automated testing (PHPUnit, Cypress, etc.).
