About the Role
RateGain is seeking a dynamic Pre-Sales Research Associate to play a pivotal role in enhancing our sales pursuits. This strategic position involves leveraging market, competitor, and customer intelligence to uncover opportunities, understand client challenges, and empower sales teams with data-driven narratives for successful deal closures. Key Responsibilities
- Market & Competitive Research: Conduct in-depth research across the travel and hospitality sectors, analyzing market trends, customer behaviors, and competitive landscapes. Identify new growth avenues within hotels, airlines, and OTAs.
- Prospect Profiling: Perform comprehensive deep-dives into priority prospect accounts, analyzing their business models, revenue streams, technology stacks, and strategic objectives in the hospitality and travel domains.
- Prospect Solution Audits: Evaluate existing distribution strategies, rate intelligence maturity, channel mix, pricing workflows, demand generation, and reputation management against RateGain's solutions.
- Gap Assessment & Opportunity Mapping: Identify inefficiencies and revenue leakage by linking prospect challenges to expected business impact and recommending RateGain products. Validate insights with internal and external data sources.
- ROI Modeling & Business Cases: Develop data-backed ROI models and micro business cases to quantify potential uplift, ADR improvement, cost reduction, and occupancy impact, supporting sales narratives.
- Sales Enablement Collateral: Create structured reports, account briefs, opportunity sheets, and problem-solution-impact matrices for sales pitches and maintain documentation in CRM.
- Pitch & Proposal Support: Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to develop customized proposals, RFP/RFI responses, capability decks, and business presentations.
- Product Demonstration & Workshop Preparation: Assist in preparing for product demonstrations and workshops, ensuring alignment with prospect needs and clearly articulating RateGain's value proposition.
- Product Insight & Gap Analysis: Maintain a thorough understanding of RateGain's products and solutions, assessing customer requirements against product capabilities to highlight strengths and solution fit.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to gather information and validate solution proposals. Engage external experts when necessary.
- Continuous Market Intelligence: Monitor travel-tech market developments, M&A activities, new integrations, and competitor strategies. Publish periodic insights and battlecards for internal teams.
Required Knowledge
- A strong grasp of the hospitality and travel ecosystem, including hotels, airlines, OTAs, distribution, and revenue management.
- Familiarity with sales cycles, pre-sales enablement, and solution positioning in SaaS or technology businesses.
- Experience with competitive intelligence, market research frameworks, and account-based research methodologies.
- Awareness of travel-tech trends, pricing, channel management, and digital demand signals.
Skills & Work Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in research, consulting, pre-sales, analytics, or knowledge center roles, preferably within a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
- Exceptional analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and compelling business narratives.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and ROI modeling, and PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience supporting sales teams through account profiling, pitch creation, RFP/RFI responses, or competitive analysis.
