Full Job Description
Join Opportunity Communities, LLC, a dynamic non-profit organization committed to fostering vibrant neighborhoods through robust support for local community developers. As an HR Employee Relations & Client Services Consultant, you will be instrumental in providing essential HR consultation, offering crucial manager coaching, and expertly triaging employee relations issues across the Opportunity Communities (OppCo) network. Your role will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery and meticulous preparation of all necessary documentation.
In this part-time, onsite role in Boston, MA, you will own first-line HR guidance and manager support for your assigned portfolio. This includes managing HR case intake, preparing comprehensive documentation, and diligently tracking case resolutions. You will also be responsible for coordinating HR service delivery with the Ops and Recruiting teams. A key aspect of your role will be supporting the SVP of HR with recommendations and documentation for escalations, as well as aiding in the implementation of HR-related Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (REDI) initiatives by reinforcing manager practices and ensuring follow-through. Furthermore, you will champion the adoption of HR intranet tools by identifying gaps, routing feedback, and reinforcing their consistent usage.
Your responsibilities will encompass advising managers on performance expectations, best practices for documentation, and corrective action steps. You will provide invaluable coaching for manager conversations, assisting with preparation, key talking points, and follow-up requirements. Supporting leaders with consistent HR guidance that aligns with OppCo standards is paramount. You will conduct intake for all employee relations concerns and define clear next steps for resolution. Preparing essential documentation, such as coaching plans, corrective action drafts, performance plans, and separation materials, will be a core function. You will diligently track case statuses, ensure timely follow-through, and coordinate escalations when necessary. Collaboration with the HR Operations & Payroll Manager on operational requirements and with the HR Recruiting Specialist during hiring escalations or role transitions is vital. You will strive for a consistent response cadence and clear closure on all HR requests.
This role also involves supporting the delivery of HR-related REDI work across both full member and affiliate organizations through implementation coordination. You will reinforce consistent manager expectations and the adoption of network REDI practices as defined by the SVP HR, tracking action items and coordinating follow-up. You will also support the effective use of intranet-based HR tools and resources by routing member questions and reinforcing standardized processes. Identifying missing tools, outdated templates, or unclear guidance and communicating these needs to the intranet owner (HR Recruiting Specialist) is crucial. You will coordinate with the SVP HR on any intranet changes impacting high-impact HR practices or network-wide implementation needs. Success in this role will be measured by managers receiving timely guidance with clear documentation standards, employee relations issues being triaged quickly and resolved efficiently, cases being documented consistently and escalated appropriately, portfolio requests being tracked, communicated, and closed reliably, and the SVP's time being protected from routine issues through strong preparation and delegation. The successful candidate will ensure REDI work is supported through consistent implementation coordination and follow-through, and that HR intranet tools are reinforced and used consistently across the network.
