Job Summary

SS&C Technologies is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Lead Java Software Engineer for its Pune, Maharashtra location. This pivotal role will lead the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated, scalable enterprise-level applications within the fast-paced fintech sector. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop complex Java-based applications, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to a team of software engineers, promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to interpret requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to guarantee code quality, optimal performance, and maintainability.
• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and post-production support.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for development processes, tools, and technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues in both production and development settings.
• Contribute to the strategic technical roadmap and technology selection decisions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their applicability to SS&C Fintech Svc India's operations.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Java software development, with a significant focus on enterprise-level applications.
• Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership capacity, including the ability to guide and mentor development teams.
• Expert knowledge of Java 8+ and associated frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• A strong grasp of object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Substantial experience with microservices architecture and the design of RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Prior experience within the financial services or fintech industry is highly advantageous.
