Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Specialist

Purpose: The OT Cybersecurity Specialist is pivotal in maintaining robust security measures, conducting assessments, and orchestrating incident response within Operational Technology (OT) environments. This critical role is dedicated to safeguarding industrial control systems (ICS) and essential infrastructure against evolving cyber threats, thereby ensuring the secure and uninterrupted operation of physical processes.

Responsibilities:

• Uphold the quality and accuracy of security asset information within the CMDB.
• Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and industry best practices tailored for OT environments.
• Be prepared and willing to undertake offshore travel as required.
• Incident Response: Lead and manage incident response activities for OT systems, encompassing detection, containment, and recovery phases.
• Security Monitoring: Contribute to the deployment and effective utilization of OT cybersecurity monitoring solutions.
• Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards for the security of OT environments.
• Continuous Improvement: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the latest OT security threats, emerging trends, and evolving industry standards.
• Conduct compliance assessments for clients, regulatory bodies, and manage access controls.
• Operate and maintain Vulnerability Management solutions.
• Proactively alert on detected threats, adversary activities, and abnormal system behaviors.
• Manage the lifecycle of all security systems, including operation and maintenance.
• Perform threat monitoring using specialized OT Cybersecurity and assessment tools.
• Collaborate with and support vendors to ensure adherence to proper security protocols and the execution of assessments.
• Foster a cyber risk-aware culture by monitoring behaviors, providing OT Cybersecurity training, and assisting all personnel.
• Conduct reviews of remote connections.
• Perform backup verifications.
• Participate actively in Cybersecurity drills and simulations.
• Generate comprehensive security reports for review and action, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Education:

• A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a closely related field is typically required.

Experience:

• Possess 2-5 years of experience working with OT, ICS, or SCADA technologies, cybersecurity principles, and risk management frameworks.
• Proficiency in network security, cryptography, and authentication systems is essential.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or specific OT security certifications are highly desirable.
