Optometrist

Role Overview

We are seeking an Optometrist to join our Bengaluru team for comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis support, and patient education under ophthalmologist guidance. This full-time role involves fitting spectacles/contact lenses, conducting pre/post-operative assessments, and maintaining accurate clinical records using modern diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health evaluations for diverse patient conditions.
• Prescribe and fit corrective eyewear including contact lenses with a focus on hygiene and safety standards.
• Support specialty clinics (pediatric, glaucoma, retina) as required by the surgical schedule.
• Maintain precise clinical documentation and ensure adherence to infection control protocols using tools like autorefractors, slit lamps, OCT, and visual field analyzers.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative care with clear communication in English (and local languages like Kannada or Hindi preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institution; clinical experience is an advantage.
• Demonstrated proficiency in refraction, contact lens fitting, and ocular diagnostics with accurate result interpretation.
• Familiarity with ophthalmic technology (OCT, visual field analyzers) and comfort working in fast-paced startup environments.
• Strong patient counseling skills, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to ethical practice.
• Educated documentation habits and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams during busy outpatient/surgical schedules.
