Job Summary
The Data Flow Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining data connections, ensuring data accuracy through validation, and performing data transformations. This position is central to the continuous improvement of the system, with a specific focus on leveraging advanced technology to enhance auto-reconciliation processes.
Responsibilities
- Import and validate file deliveries for new clients.
- Automate the monitoring and reporting of daily processes.
- Establish data connections using external APIs and FTP protocols.
- Guarantee the timely and reliable consumption of external portfolio data.
- Normalize diverse external datasets into a standardized Clearwater format to streamline the intake process.
- Analyze existing data feeds to identify, design, and implement solutions that improve auto-reconciliation capabilities.
- Implement enhancements requested by the Operations and Development teams.
- Apply acquired skills, established procedures, and best practices in decision-making to resolve various issues, including normalizing new data feeds and improving automation.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of general workflows, tools, and the Clearwater value proposition, and be able to reference or explain them.
- Utilize critical thinking to address challenges and propose solutions for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the adoption of best practices.
- Clearly and effectively communicate technical details of Clearwater systems and best practices to non-technical internal and external audiences.
- Participate in light on-call duties as required.
Required Skills
- Experience in securities, accounting, and finance.
- Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of relational database principles.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Groovy, Perl, or Python.
- Experience with industry-standard data transmission protocols is preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
