Join Amazon's Competitor Monitoring Team (CMT) as an Operations Manager in Chennai, India, and contribute to our mission of being Earth's most customer-centric company in a thriving global e-commerce landscape. CMT plays a vital role in ensuring Amazon remains competitive by offering the best prices, directly influencing customer purchasing decisions and enhancing the online user experience.

In this role, you will lead and manage a high-performing team responsible for end-to-end pricing operations across various Amazon international marketplaces. Your responsibilities will include organizing, planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, while owning production and quality Key Result Areas (KRAs). You will manage performance against operational and business goals, Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics, and influence peers and stakeholders in other functions to achieve objectives. As the primary liaison with Amazon's worldwide retail teams, you must be comfortable and confident communicating with remote teams.

You will interface with and drive agendas for automation and technology teams to develop scalable solutions, ensuring the safety, security, and integrity of Amazon's systems and data. Success in this role requires the ability to work at all levels of detail to achieve team and organizational goals, identify individual strengths for talent advancement, and contribute to succession planning. You will actively embody and translate Amazon's core business values and initiatives into daily practices.

  • Achieving operational and business goals.
  • Driving data-oriented analysis, technology adoption, and process improvement projects.
  • Managing stakeholder communication across multiple business lines regarding operational milestones, process changes, and escalations.
  • Ensuring high-quality hiring standards.
  • Executing people programs focused on coaching, development, and team engagement.
  • Communicating operational and metric information to various stakeholders.
  • Developing and owning external/internal communications, including blurbs and reports.
  • Effectively representing data and managing escalations.
  • Driving discussions with stakeholders to influence process decisions using data.
  • Analyzing data to identify gaps, recommend solutions, and drive decision-making.
  • Managing escalations and resolving complex tickets, including non-standard tasks.
  • Providing operational reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Independently driving work allocation for the function/process.
  • Prioritizing metrics to meet assigned operational goals.
  • Participating in onboarding for new processes, including documentation like SOPs.
  • Mentoring and coaching associates to foster growth.
  • Developing training content for functional onboarding.
  • Training new hires.
  • Serving as an expert and primary contact for process issues, escalations, and coaching.
  • Applying an understanding of performance and leadership standards to hiring decisions.
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of team management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • A minimum of 2 years of program or project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of databases and querying/analysis tools such as SQL, MYSQL, and ETL Manager, with experience working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Experience managing critical operational processes with SLA responsibilities.
