Key Responsibilities

• Cloud-Native SaaS Architecture Design: Implement scalable, multi-tenant components; design microservices for medical imaging data processing and AI workloads; develop API endpoints and service integrations with clinical trial systems. Support platform scalability.
• AI-Driven Medical Imaging Platform Development: Integrate AI/ML models (genAI, computer vision) for image analysis; develop real-time/batch processing pipelines for DICOM/NIfTI data; implement compliant data preprocessing workflows and support model deployment in production environments.
• Medical Image Viewer Integration & Workflow Design: Develop components for third-party viewers like OHIF or Cornerstone.js; integrate clinical trial management systems APIs; create visualization features for AI insights with responsive design implementation across devices.
• Security & Compliance Implementation: Ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP regulations via audit trails and electronic signatures; implement role-based access control (RBAC) and encryption. Support disaster recovery solutions for clinical trial data integrity.
• Database & Data Management: Implement high-performance database solutions for DICOM metadata and AI outputs; handle large-scale dataset storage, analysis, and movement; develop real-time streaming components for live image analysis with robust governance features ensuring privacy protection.
• Performance Optimization & Monitoring: Build monitoring observability components; optimize system performance for imaging file processing; implement caching strategies (CDN) for global access. Ensure SLA compliance through automated alerting and reliability initiatives.
• Innovation: Monitor market intelligence on emerging technologies in medical imaging, AI/ML, and cloud computing. Share knowledge with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Functional Competencies

We seek candidates proficient in containerization/serverless architectures, message queuing for high-throughput data processing, DICOM networking protocols (C-STORE, C-FIND), and security frameworks like encryption/identity management. You should understand medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-Ray) and clinical workflows with strong communication skills to engage stakeholders effectively.

Required Experience

• Substantial post-qualification software development experience delivering solutions in medical imaging or healthcare technology.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications and SaaS components (serverless, scalable architectures).
• Hands-on AI/ML integration in production environments for medical imagery.
• Familiarity with regulated software development processes (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, ISO 13485) including DICOM standards and PACS integration.
