Observability Engineer

Anaplan is seeking a self-motivated Observability Engineer to join our Observability Infrastructure team in Gurugram, Haryana. As a high-growth company at the forefront of enterprise planning, we are looking for curious, hard-working engineers who value simplicity, agility, and performance. In this role, you will work with the tools used to collect and analyze Observability telemetry (Logs, Metrics, and Traces), enabling engineers across the business to monitor service performance and interactions efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, with two days per week in our India office.

Your Impact:

• Administer and manage observability infrastructure.
• Deploy and configure OpenTelemetry (OTEL) agents for telemetry collection and visualization in Grafana.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop platform capabilities, from rapid prototypes to robust solutions.
• Coach and partner with other platform and product engineers to promote observability best practices.
• Develop custom code using Python or other suitable languages, emphasizing testability and sustainability.
• Utilize Terraform for the managed and repeatable deployment of dashboards and alerts in Grafana instances.
• Translate product goals into prioritized platform requirements by working with stakeholders.
• Navigate and operate within a complex and evolving environment across multiple cloud vendors and data centers.
• Collect data from diverse systems including Kubernetes, VMs, and bare metal.
• Drive business decisions by encouraging and enabling the adoption of observability tools.

Your Qualifications:

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Proficiency in working with Kubernetes.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with or strong enthusiasm for learning tools like Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana (TIG stack), Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK stack), Splunk, New Relic, Elastic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, Honeycomb, or LogicMonitor.
