NodeJs Backend Developer

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js to join our engineering team at Choira MusicTech. This role is critical for building scalable applications within India's growing tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Node.js and Express.js frameworks.
• Design robust RESTful APIs to support both web platforms and mobile applications across various devices.
• Implement enterprise-grade secure authentication and authorization mechanisms utilizing JWT (JSON Web Tokens).
• Leverage MySQL for relational data management and MongoDB with Mongoose for flexible document-based storage, ensuring high performance.
• Create efficient database schemas, optimize queries, manage relationships, and enforce strict data validation rules.
• Build comprehensive CRUD operations that ensure application modules remain consistent and reliable.
• Develop advanced API features including complex filtering systems, pagination controls, and insightful dashboard statistics for business metrics.
• Craft clean, reusable, maintainable code with thorough documentation to facilitate team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot backend issues promptly using Postman or similar testing tools to ensure application stability.
• Collaborate effectively with frontend developers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for the Indian market.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrable 6–12 months of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js within an agile environment.
• Solid command over modern JavaScript (ES6+) and proficiency with Express.js for rapid application development.
• Practical expertise in building RESTful APIs, handling CRUD operations, and optimizing API performance.
• In-depth understanding of MySQL database architecture and relational concepts essential for data integrity.
• Familiarity with MongoDB schema design and Mongoose ODM patterns common in modern Node.js stacks.
• Strong grasp of JWT-based authentication flows and password hashing best practices using bcrypt to secure user data.
• Experience utilizing API testing tools such as Postman or Thunder Client for validation prior to deployment.
• Proficiency with Git version control systems for collaborative code management and branching strategies.
• Deep understanding of asynchronous programming patterns, middleware configuration, and centralized error handling mechanisms in Node.js environments.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with industry-standard API documentation tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI to enhance developer experience.
• Basic knowledge of Docker containerization for application deployment and scalability within Mumbai's tech infrastructure.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks using Jest, Supertest, or the native Node.js test runner to ensure code quality.
