Network Systems Engineer 2

Job Title: Network Engineer Tier 2 (L2)

Experience: 2-6 years of relevant experience in supporting enterprise or corporate networks.

Education & Certification:

• Graduate in any discipline.
• CCNA certification is mandatory.
• CCNP certification is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 2 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, Wireless, SD-WAN, and security environments across branch sites and data centers.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including wireless, routing, switching, ACI, VPN, and destination reachability, utilizing OSI model fundamentals to analyze issues and document root causes and resolutions.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and changes in accordance with defined SLAs and ITIL processes.
• Perform configurations and troubleshooting on switches, routers, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Assist with device code upgrades and software maintenance for WLC, Wireless APs, SD-WAN devices, Nexus switches, F5 load balancers, and firewalls within approved change windows.
• Conduct pre- and post-upgrade validation, health checks, and provide basic rollback support.
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 teams with detailed technical information and logs.
• Utilize monitoring tools and ServiceNow for ticket tracking, updates, and closure.
• Be prepared to work in a 24/7 support environment, including shift-based operations and on-call duties as needed.

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

• Strong command of OSI and TCP/IP models.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with:
• Cisco Switches (e.g., 8K, 9K models) and Routers (e.g., 8K, 9K models).
• Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (e.g., 9800 models) and Wireless Access Points (e.g., 9130, 9164).
• Cisco ACI fundamentals, including APIC, tenants, VRF, BD, EPG concepts, and basic fabric/endpoint troubleshooting.
• Firewalls (basic policy and traffic troubleshooting).
• F5 Load Balancer (basic awareness and L2 support).
• Basic understanding of VPN concepts and firewall rules.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
• Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
• Proven experience working in an MNC environment, managing large-scale enterprise network infrastructure.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory):

• Network scripting/automation (Ansible, Python, basic scripting).
• Basic knowledge of Cisco Voice/Collaboration.
• Exposure to enterprise monitoring tools.
