Who You’ll Work With

Collaborate closely with software development engineers, hardware engineers, field support engineers, product managers, and fellow software test engineers. Your role will involve analyzing customer requirements and use cases, gathering technical details, developing comprehensive software test plans, and validating product adherence to customer requirements. You will also work with customer support and engineering teams to resolve escalated customer issues by replicating and debugging them in a lab environment.

What You’ll Do

Arista Networks seeks world-class Software Test Engineers, also known as System Test Engineers, to contribute to building the highest quality networking products. If you have a passion for networking and are excited by complex, scaled-out network topologies, this role is for you.

Your primary focus will be on identifying critical bugs that may not be easily exposed by automated unit and product-level tests. Arista developers automate all fundamental functional and integration tests, allowing you to concentrate on more intricate testing challenges.

Through our highly collaborative work environment, you will be embedded within multiple engineering teams, working side-by-side with developers, POC engineers, and account teams. Operating as a unified team, you will explore, identify, and resolve software issues before they reach customers. Qualifications

• Experience & Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech) with relevant networking industry experience.
• Test Methodologies: Proven expertise in developing test methodologies and authoring detailed test plans.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, Platform validation, HA, and network management.
• Test Tools: Experience with IXIA and/or Spirent test tools is highly desired.
• Automation Collaboration: Work with development teams to create plans for automated tests that complement your exploratory testing efforts.
• Design Reviews: Participate in functional specification and software design reviews, providing valuable customer-centric input.
• Development Environment: Thrive in a high-performance environment alongside top engineers, working on the Linux platform, significantly accelerating development cycles with a strong focus on quality.
• Bug Discovery: Employ all available means to identify defects in the software and/or hardware under development.
• Test Plan Development: Create test plans to rigorously validate Arista features and products.
• Test Topology Design: Design intricate test network topologies to validate the functionality, performance, stability, and scalability of features and products.
• Test Execution & Defect Management: Execute test plans to verify all product aspects, identify defects, and validate resolutions.
• Agile Development: Act as an agile team member within a combined development and test team, working in short cycles to develop functional software through iterative development.
