Network Security Engineer
Xerox Business Solutions Southeast, Kolkata
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy various network security systems, including next-generation firewalls, unified threat management (UTM) services, and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
- Execute network configuration processes such as firewall setup, network security report generation, security solution configuration, network infrastructure hardening, and software/hardware license management.
- Create logical diagrams, data center diagrams, and network operational procedures.
- Develop and utilize automation to streamline repeatable tasks and processes.
- Coordinate high-impact infrastructure changes and outages, including during on-call and off-hours.
- Collaborate with architecture and operational teams to provide design feedback, identify process improvement opportunities, and suggest potential solution enhancements.
- Serve as the escalation point for network operations and incident managers.
- Perform light travel as needed for project delivery.
- Champion network security initiatives and operational processes to foster a culture of improved security.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field with 2-4 years of experience in networking and security.
- Proficiency in network security technologies such as Data-Loss Prevention (DLP), Sandboxing, Network Antivirus, Cloud Application Security Brokers (CASB), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting), and SSL Inspection.
- Understanding of network security concepts like Zero-Trust and Least Privilege.
- Knowledge of network services including IPSec, TLS, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), and logging/alerting systems.
- Familiarity with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Network Access Control (NAC) technologies.
- Experience with scripting and automation, particularly in Python.
- Hands-on experience configuring security solutions from vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Infoblox, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Zscaler.
- Familiarity with information security frameworks including NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CIS Benchmarks, and ISO 27001.
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively, with strong organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Strong expertise across multiple technologies, analytical techniques, and leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with IT operational processes (Event, Incident, Change, Problem, ITSM), development frameworks (Agile, SAFe), and service management frameworks (ITIL).
