Network Security Engineer - Bengaluru
Join Blue Mantis as a Network Security Engineer in our hybrid Bengaluru (Whitefield) office, where you will play a critical role in safeguarding our enterprise network. Key Responsibilities:
Escalation & Advanced Troubleshooting
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network security incidents, with a focus on Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate issues related to traffic flow, VPNs, NAT, and security policies within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Conduct in-depth packet analysis, log correlation, and root-cause analysis for persistent security incidents.
Security Infrastructure Management
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot critical security infrastructure, including IPSec site-to-site tunnels, SSL inspection/decryption, threat prevention, URL filtering, and application control.
- Manage and support key security platforms such as Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama (centralized firewall management), and Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Implement and optimize firewall policies, security zones, NAT rules, and logging strategies to enhance security effectiveness.
ITIL Process & Compliance
- Adhere to and enforce ITIL-based processes, including Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, and Change Management.
- Ensure operational compliance, maintain audit readiness, and actively contribute to process improvements and the advancement of security best practices.
Service Delivery & Documentation
- Deliver high-quality technical support in alignment with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Provide timely status updates to stakeholders and maintain comprehensive and accurate case documentation.
- Develop and update knowledge base articles, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support operational efficiency.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively with network, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
- Participate in security optimization initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, automation projects, and infrastructure upgrade projects.
About You:
We are seeking a Network Security Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network security operations, specifically with Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls in enterprise settings. A strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VPN, and firewall policy architecture is essential. You should have practical expertise with Palo Alto NGFW & Panorama and Cisco ASA. Experience with IPSec VPNs (site-to-site & remote access), log analysis, traffic troubleshooting, and threat prevention features is required. Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy, coupled with a solid background in ITIL-based support models, is highly valued. Preferred certifications include PCNSA/PCNSE and CCNA Security. You possess strong analytical and complex troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work independently, multitask, and perform under pressure. A customer-focused mindset and strong collaboration skills are key to success in this role.
