Network Security Engineer
Tata Communications Limited is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience for a full-time position in Chennai, India.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on day-to-day network security operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, security products, and virtualization technologies, contributing to research, product engineering, proof of concepts, and providing technical guidance to service teams.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to drive day-to-day network security engineering activities. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise across network infrastructure, security products, and virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will contribute to research, product engineering, proof of concepts, and technical guidance to service teams.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience in Network Infrastructure
- Expertise in Switching & Routing
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet
- Experience with L5 / Radware / Array / WAF
- Strong knowledge of Cisco ACI
- Experience with NSX / NFV
Key Responsibilities
- Drive day-to-day network security engineering activities
- Research and development of new security engineering solutions
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs)
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and service guides
- Provide guidance to Service Assurance teams on escalated technical issues
- Publish and maintain project tracking dashboards
- Conduct customer demonstrations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Desired Skill Sets
- Experience with network security products such as: Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper
- Hands-on experience with DDoS solutions (e.g., Arbor)
- Experience with PAM solutions
- Experience with WAF products (F5, Array Load Balancer, etc.)
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Storage technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Customer-facing experience is a plus
