Key Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches (including Cisco, Juniper, Huawei), and firewall devices (such as FortiGate).
• Integrate and enforce security practices within automation workflows to protect network data and infrastructure.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network connectivity, routing protocols, and firewall policies for secure and reliable operations.
• Configure, manage, and monitor Unified Threat Management (UTM) and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) solutions to ensure comprehensive network security, encompassing intrusion prevention, application control, and VPN management.
• Oversee the daily operations of Network Management Systems (e.g., Zabbix, Cacti, or in-house NMS).
• Perform detailed SNMP and API analysis, including MIB analysis, SNMP trap parsing, and SNMP table polling; manage event message formats like SNMP Traps and Syslog.
• Develop custom scripts and programs in Python/Bash to automate network management, data collection, performance monitoring, and reporting.
• Monitor daily Networking/Firewall devices, Automation Tools, NMS, and DB Servers for operational status, management, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Manage and maintain the network automation infrastructure, including version control systems and automation servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Document automation processes thoroughly with code comments, user manuals, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and uphold best practices.
• Operate effectively within a Linux environment, managing services and performing system-level administration.
• Conduct quality assurance testing, including developing test plans, creating test cases, and executing performance tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability, scalability, and security compliance.
• Prioritize and execute tasks efficiently in high-pressure operational environments.
• Perform product updates/upgrades and apply patches to applications and the underlying platform.
• Conduct daily system checks, review, and respond to events flagged by various management tools.
• Perform system audit reviews and execute required maintenance functions to ensure system health.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, E & TC Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Networking and Security, with hands-on experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, NMS, and automation scripting.

Certifications:

• CCNA (Mandatory)
• Firewall Security certification (preferred)

Technical Expertise:

• Networking: Proficient with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei Routers & Switches.
• Security: Practical experience with FortiGate Firewalls and implementing security policies.
• Protocols, Security & Monitoring: Strong understanding of Network OSI/TCP/IP models, Routing, Switching, SDWAN, Firewall Security (SPI/UTM/NGFW), GPON Network, and Packet forwarding architectures. Deep knowledge of SNMP protocol, API, MIB analysis, trap parsing, and Syslog event handling.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for automating network administration and monitoring tasks.
• NMS Tools: Experience with Zabbix, Cacti, or similar network monitoring platforms.
• Operating Systems: Strong experience working in Linux and Windows environments.

Soft Skills: Excellent documentation and communication skills; strong collaborative abilities; effective prioritization skills in demanding situations.
