Network Operations Engineer - Pune, India

Johnson Controls is seeking a dedicated Network Operations Engineer to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This role is integral to our Global region operations, focusing on maintaining the integrity and performance of our worldwide network infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

• Under the guidance of the TOC shift lead, you will be responsible for monitoring the organization’s global network infrastructure and providing essential 1st and 2nd line network support.
• Review, triage, and troubleshoot incident and service request tickets assigned to the network support team.
• Collaborate effectively with Infrastructure, Operations, and Delivery teams, as well as external partners, to ensure swift resolution of issues.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers, ensuring accurate communication of diagnostic information to meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and targets.

How You Will Do It:

• Network Monitoring: Engage in proactive monitoring and timely response to alerts to prevent or minimize service outages.
• Incident Management: Identify and investigate problems to determine root causes, enabling quick resumption of customer operations.
• Service Requests: Execute low-level service requests efficiently.
• Documentation: Maintain and update incident reports, shift handovers, and troubleshooting documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer between shifts.

What We Look For:

• 1-2 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment or network operations.
• A strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and various protocols.
• Proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Desirable, but not essential: Knowledge of firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).
• Desirable, but not essential: Familiarity with Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Desirable: A CCNA certification or equivalent.
• Desirable, but not essential: Experience working in an ITIL-oriented environment.
