Network Operations Engineer - Pune, India
Johnson Controls is seeking a proactive Network Operations Engineer to join our global network team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This role is integral to maintaining the health and performance of our worldwide network infrastructure.
Under the guidance of the TOC shift lead, you will be responsible for monitoring our global network infrastructure and providing essential 1st and 2nd line network support. Your key duties will involve reviewing, triaging, and troubleshooting incident and service request tickets assigned to the network support team. You will collaborate effectively with Infrastructure, Operations, Delivery teams, and external partners, escalating complex issues to senior engineers as needed. Accurate communication of diagnostic information will be crucial for swift resolution within defined SLAs and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance and respond to alerts to prevent or minimize service outages.
- Incident Management: Identify, investigate, and resolve network problems to restore services for users promptly.
- Service Requests: Execute and manage low-level network service requests.
- Documentation: Maintain and update incident reports, shift handover notes, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge transfer.
What We Are Looking For:
- 1-2 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or network operations role.
- A solid understanding of networking concepts, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and relevant protocols.
- Proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
- Knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto) is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable but not essential.
- CCNA certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in an ITIL-oriented environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
