Network Operations Engineer - Pune, India
Johnson Controls is seeking a motivated Network Operations Engineer to join our global team in Pune, India. This role focuses on monitoring and supporting our worldwide network infrastructure, providing critical 1st and 2nd line network support.
Under the guidance of the TOC shift lead, you will be responsible for reviewing, triaging, and troubleshooting incident and service request tickets assigned to the network support team. Collaboration with internal Infrastructure, Operations, and Delivery teams, as well as external partners, will be key. You will escalate complex issues to senior engineers while ensuring accurate communication of diagnostic information to meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance and respond promptly to alerts to prevent or minimize service outages.
- Incident Management: Identify, investigate, and resolve network problems to ensure quick restoration of operations for users.
- Service Requests: Execute low-level network service requests efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain and update incident reports, shift handovers, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or network operations role.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and common protocols.
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
- Experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto) is desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable but not essential.
- CCNA certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in an ITIL-oriented environment is desirable but not mandatory.
