Network Operations Engineer - Pune

Johnson Controls is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join their team in Pune. This role focuses on the proactive monitoring of the organization's global network infrastructure and providing essential 1st and 2nd line network support. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the TOC shift lead, reviewing, triaging, and troubleshooting incident and service request tickets. Collaboration with internal Infrastructure, Operations, and Delivery teams, as well as external partners, will be key to resolving issues swiftly and within defined SLAs. This position involves escalating complex problems to senior engineers while ensuring accurate diagnostic information is communicated for efficient resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor the network and respond to alerts to prevent or minimize service outages.
• Incident Management: Identify and investigate network problems to determine root causes and restore services quickly.
• Service Requests: Fulfill and execute low-level network service requests.
• Documentation: Maintain and update incident reports, shift handovers, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or network operations role.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and common protocols.
• Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Experience with firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto) is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with cloud services like Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
• CCNA certification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience in an ITIL-oriented environment is preferred but not required.
