Job Summary:
The NOC Engineer is responsible for the real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves responding to alerts, coordinating with technical teams, and maintaining high availability of services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network and system alerts using NOC tools such as SolarWinds and ELK.
• Perform initial analysis and troubleshooting of alerts, escalating issues as necessary.
• Coordinate with internal infrastructure, application teams, and service providers for incident resolution.
• Track and document all issues and resolutions using ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
• Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of all critical infrastructure systems.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and NOC standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in 24x7 shift rotations and on-call support.
• Monitor servers, networks, backups, storage, and cloud environments for performance issues and stability.
• Provide first-level support for Windows server-related issues using SOPs or alert-based troubleshooting.
• Possess knowledge of MS SQL servers, IIS, Mail Transfer Agents, FTP, and DNS.
• Escalate tickets to L2 and L3 support teams appropriately, performing first-level triaging.
• Monitor network links and follow up with providers for fault resolution.
• Alert teams and project owners of any critical alerts.
• Demonstrate knowledge of ServiceNow ticketing systems and ITIL processes.
• Understand patching procedures and have good server patching experience.
• Liaise with third-party vendors for OS-related issues.
• Coordinate with ISPs/Customers for link issues.
• Monitor network devices and perform initial checks, demonstrating knowledge of network fundamentals.
• Preferred: Certified in Microsoft technologies.
• Preferred: Degree in Computers, ideally an Engineering degree.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with users.
• Be a good team player, adhering to team policies and processes.
• Have knowledge of cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and VMware.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a NOC or technical support environment.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and network troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with ticketing and incident management tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 environment and remain calm under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability to changing technologies and environments.
• Willingness to collaborate with other teams and take ownership of issues.
